Mahony Chauffeur & Golf Tours began with a simple idea: offer golfers a comfortable and reliable way to travel around Ireland while enjoying everything the west has to offer. My name is Rory Mahony, and I’m the founder of the business. I’m 23 years old and a graduate of Atlantic Technological University, where I studied International Hotel Management. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in tourism, guest experience and how small details can make a big difference to someone’s trip.
Growing up in the countryside, I was always surrounded by open roads, local hospitality and visitors coming from all over the world to explore Ireland. Over time, I began to notice how many golf tourists struggled with transport — especially when travelling in small groups with lots of equipment. Standard taxis didn’t always have the space, and many tourists preferred not to drive on rural Irish roads. I realised there was an opportunity to create a service that solved these issues and delivered a more personalised experience.
After completing my degree, I decided to design a service built around comfort, reliability and local knowledge. The Mercedes V-Class offers the ideal setup, paired with a custom trailer that handles golf clubs and luggage without any hassle. My aim is to give visitors the confidence that everything is organised before they even land in Ireland.
